Getting started
How do I create my account?
Go to sign up, enter your name, email and a password. The wizard opens right after and walks you through your first tracker.
How do I invite my team?
Open Team, choose a role and send an invite by email or copy the invite link. Links can be revoked at any time.
Can I use Heardsay in French, Spanish or Arabic?
Yes. Each person picks English, French, Spanish or Arabic in their profile. Briefs follow the workspace language.
Trackers and queries
What is the difference between simple and advanced mode?
Simple mode takes keywords and exclusions. Advanced mode accepts AND, OR, NOT, "exact phrases" and NEAR/n for words close to each other.
I get mentions about a different organization with the same name.
Add exclusions such as the other city or industry, or require a second word with NEAR/10. Marking results "not relevant" also teaches the filter.
How far back does Heardsay look?
New trackers pull the last 7 days. After that, sources are checked every 15 minutes.
Alerts and briefs
How do I connect Slack or Teams?
Create an incoming webhook in your Slack or Teams channel, then paste it into an alert rule in Heardsay and press Send test.
Can I change when the brief arrives?
Yes. Each recipient can pick a local time in Settings. The default is 7:00.
How do I share a brief with someone without an account?
Open the brief and choose Share. You get a private link, with an optional password and expiry date.
Billing and account
How do I upgrade?
Owners and admins can open Settings, then Plan and billing, and pick a plan. The change applies as soon as payment goes through.
Where do I enter a nonprofit code?
At checkout, in the discount code field. Ask us for a code if you do not have one yet.
I forgot my password.
Use "Forgot password" on the sign in page. The reset link is valid for one hour.
